About Us

The Almaden Senior Association is an all-volunteer organization of Active Adults (50+) which initiates, supports and promotes programs and activities for the active adult population at the City-operated Almaden Community Center. The Association works in collaboration with City staff responsible for operating the Center. The Association meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month.

We actively seek new members and volunteers; membership benefits include discounts for all program and course offerings offered by the City or through the Association. One needs not be a resident San Jose to join.

Our volunteer membership is entirely responsible for planning, organizing and accomplishing the many activities of the Association. These include monthly luncheon or dinner parties, trips, adventures and excursions around the Bay Area (including theater), and special events such as candidate forums in election years. We work with City staff to develop new programs and activities as requested by the senior community. The Association also supports philanthropic activities for the community including the Family Giving Tree, Concerts in the Park, and the Fourth of July celebration at Almaden Lake Park.
